Airport Leadership Development Course 2018


Join us for our first Airport Leadership Development Course on December 10-12 in Sacramento, CA.

The Airport Leadership Development Program was developed through a Transportation Research Board Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) by a research team comprised of members from The Ohio State University, Direct Effect Solutions, Inc, HNTB and The Columbus Regional Airport Authority. (Published as ACRP Report 75). The Airport Leadership Development Program Course 101 was refreshed and rebranded for delivery in October 2014 through the same partnership.

 

Intended Audience

The curriculum was designed to be used with both emerging and existing leaders and is intended to be used to expand leadership capabilities in any participant for their current and future roles with any organization. Participants should be selected based on their current performance and potential and their willingness to seek additional self-awareness into their leadership behaviors. The CAC is encouraging Director participation as this course is currently being provided on a trial basis and will need Director input for continuation. There is a cap of 24 participants in total with a maximum of 3 per airport. Please ensure selected participants are comfortable with discussing and critiquing personal and peer leadership performance. 

 

Course Objectives and Outcomes

The Airport Leadership Development Program Course was developed using five overarching topic areas, organized within the curriculum as modules. The five modules are: Self-Management, Leadership Fundamentals, Leadership Engagement, Leadership Competencies, and Leadership Application.

This course has been delivered with a “ticket of admission” which includes the 360 feedback survey report and a culminating activity which is a presentation by each student describing what they have learned about themselves and their organizations as well as their commitment to action for change.

 

Schedule

Monday, Dec. 10: Day 1

Class starts at noon with lunch, and goes through 5:30.  Reception starts 6 P.M. and concludes at 8 P.M. The reception will include Ms. Lisa Stanton from the Sacramento International Airport as the guest speaker.

Tuesday, Dec. 11: Day 2

Class from 8:30 A.M.to 5 P.M.  Breakfast is available for hotel guests; pastries, fruit and coffee will be available in the meeting room.  Lunch will be served along with an afternoon break.

Wednesday, Dec. 12: Day 3

Class from 8:30 A.M. to 5 P.M  Breakfast is available for hotel guests; pastries, fruit and coffee will be available in the meeting room.  Lunch will be served along with an afternoon break.

 

Hotel Reservations

Our hotel for the event is at the Sacramento Embassy Suites with a room rate of $179/night from December 10-12.

Please keep in mind that all reservations must be in by: Sunday, November 11th, 2018.

The hotel is located across the street from Old Sacramento, and the hotel also provides a free shuttle to/from the airport. Self-parking is $24/night; Valet Parking is $32/night.

The complimentary airport shuttle runs from 6:15am – 10:00pm typically on the hour. Please call the hotel immediately upon landing, 916.326.5000, to help minimize wait times. The hotel operator will inform guests of approximate ETA of the shuttle. Return trips to the airport usually leave on the hour and can be scheduled with the Front Desk. Guests are encouraged to be flexible with their times and plan ahead.

 

Fees

$650/person (Maximum of 3 participants per airport). Upon registration an invoice will be emailed for payment processing. Registration must be completed by November 1, 2018.
